Just Got My Free Quart of Paint!

The doorbell just rang, and waiting on the steps for me was a free quart of Glidden Eggshell Semimate paint in Afternoon Tea. I found out about it, a while back, from one of the many blogs I follow. I wish I could remember which one and let you know, so that you could follow it as well!

I had originally gotten it as an accent in the baby's room. But my brother is thinking about painting some trim in the bedroom at his new house. If it's the right color, I'll give it to him!

Cheapest Disposable Diapers Currently on Amazon

I was just poking around on Amazon to see what diaper prices were since they've dropped the extra 20% off coupons in all those magazines. Here's what I found were the best deals... (keep in mind it's the best deal if you sign up for Amazon Mom -free shipping and 15% off- and use Subscribe & Save -save an extra 15%-).

Beginner's Guide: Using What You've Got

While I am a little lenient on the expiration dates on items, I know not everyone is. If you end up throwing lots of things away, then you're not really saving any money. How can I make sure I don't forget about something I've bought before it expires? What about stuff I've never bought or eaten before?

The Great Diaper Debate: Cloth vs. Disposable

I have heard both sides of the debate, some that I nod my head and agree with (from both sides), and others that I roll my eyes at. I see the pros & cons of each, but what I really want to know... which is actually cheaper?

To clip or not to clip... the answer is up to you. Really whatever organizational system gets you to use your coupons is the best way! I'll share a few ways that I've seen. You can use one of them, a combination of them, or find your own way.

Beginner's Guide: Getting Coupons

To start couponing, first, well, you need coupons. There are several places to get coupons, but the newspaper is one of you best sources. And from what I've heard there are more & better coupons in the Minneapolis Star Tribune than in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. But both have many of the same ones. Keep reading to find out how to get the best deals on newspapers and where to find other coupons...

Stockpiling

I've seen too many YouTube clips from Extreme Couponing of people "hoarding" 150 years worth of deodorant or salad dressing (that has an expiration date!) or the like. If you're a decent couponer (and by decent I mean you don't clear off the shelves at a grocery store so that no one else can buy pasta until the store gets their next shipment in), then you stockpile, not hoard.

Cheapest Diapers Around!

**UPDATE** The last two magazines I've gotten in the mail haven't had the coupons in them. I've heard that Amazon is getting rid of the 20% off coupons. The diapers are still a fairly good deal, just not quite as amazing...Check out this post from Pocket Your Dollars for a store by store, brand by brand comparison.

Some of you may have heard me talk about Amazon Mom and how cheap I can get diapers from them. For those of you who haven't, or those that was more info, here ya go!

Aren't allowances for kids?

Money seems to be an issue in a lot of marriages. In fact, it leads to many divorces each year. Money hasn't been a huge issue for the hubbs & I, but it comes up from time to time. Some of our married friends have separate accounts and then they can do whatever they want with their money, some have joint accounts.
